On 17 November 2026, STEAMbrace and STREAM IT will come together for a European event dedicated to advancing inclusive STEAM education and exploring the road ahead for gender-responsive learning across Europe. Under the campaign concept #ShapingInclusiveSTEAM, the event will bring together project results, policy dialogue, participatory workshops and future-oriented discussions on how Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics can become more inclusive, creative and accessible for all learners.
The programme, titled “Advancing inclusive STEAM Education: Insights, Results & the Road Ahead”, reflects a shared ambition: to move beyond the presentation of project outputs and create a space where evidence, experience and collaboration can support future action. Rather than marking an end, the event will act as a milestone for continuity, helping connect the work developed by both projects with the stakeholders, tools and networks that can carry inclusive STEAM education forward.
A shared space for dialogue, evidence and future action
The event will open with welcome remarks from representatives of both projects, followed by a keynote welcome address designed to frame the discussion from a European perspective. This opening will highlight the importance of inclusive, innovative and future-oriented STEAM education, as well as its contribution to innovation, competitiveness and societal well-being.
Throughout the day, the event will combine institutional dialogue with practical exchange. The aim is to create a setting where policymakers, educators, researchers, project partners and other education stakeholders can reflect on what has been achieved, what still needs to be addressed, and how inclusive STEAM approaches can be strengthened across Europe.

Building sustainable and gender-responsive STEAM ecosystems
One of the central moments of the programme will be a roundtable organised by STEAMbrace on Building Sustainable Gender-Responsive STEAM Education Ecosystems. This discussion will explore how evidence-based STEAM approaches can be translated into sustainable policy frameworks and institutional practices across Europe.
The roundtable will also address the role of the STEAM Alliance for Europe as a sustainable European coordination framework for gender-responsive STEAM education. It will explore how project activities can contribute to policy instruments, transferable methodologies, synergies between regional, national and European structures, and the integration of gender-responsive approaches into school curricula.
This reflects one of the key ideas behind #ShapingInclusiveSTEAM: inclusive STEAM education should not remain limited to individual activities or isolated project results. It needs shared structures, long-term collaboration and practical pathways for implementation.
The role of Arts, evidence and policy recommendations
A second roundtable, organised by STREAM IT, will focus on Shaping the Future of Inclusive STEAM Education, with attention to evidence, policy recommendations and the transformative role of the Arts. This session will bring together lessons learned from inclusive STEAM approaches in educational settings and explore how practical experience can inform future recommendations.
The discussion will also address what principles should guide gender-responsive and diversity-inclusive STEAM education, as well as how the Arts can contribute to gender equality, diversity, creativity and interdisciplinary learning.
This perspective is especially relevant for STEAMbrace and STREAM IT, as both projects recognise that the “A” in STEAM is not an additional layer, but a meaningful part of how students engage with knowledge, creativity, expression and social impact.

Participatory workshops to shape what comes next
In the afternoon, participants will take part in parallel small-group workshops designed to encourage exchange, reflection and co-creation. These sessions will allow participants to self-select their preferred discussion group and contribute to conversations on the future of inclusive STEAM education.
STEAMbrace will contribute with a workshop focused on the STEAM Alliance for Europe and Joint PR Strategy, exploring how to build a sustainable European STEAM ecosystem. Participants will discuss the Alliance’s role in connecting schools, universities, companies, researchers and policymakers, as well as future needs related to governance, communication and engagement.
A second STEAMbrace workshop will focus on Digital Assets and Tools, showcasing resources developed through the project, including the STEAM Digital Hub, STEAM Week, the STEAM activities catalogue, AI-supported tools, VR activities and implementation guidelines. This workshop will explore how these resources can support teachers, educational managers and stakeholders in adopting, adapting and scaling inclusive STEAM practices across different contexts.
The workshop programme will also include discussions on inequalities in the classroom, European collaboration, networks and joint action, with a contribution from Scientix expected as part of the wider programme.
Keeping inclusive STEAM education moving forward
The event will close with a plenary reporting session and a final discussion on key messages and future action for STEAM education. Rapporteurs from the small groups will share insights, recommendations and questions with all participants, helping connect the different conversations into a shared reflection.
The closing session will focus on the implications of the event for policymakers and decision-makers, while inviting participants to share commitments, recommendations and visions for the future of inclusive, gender-responsive STEAM education in Europe.
Through #ShapingInclusiveSTEAM, STEAMbrace and STREAM IT aim to highlight that inclusive STEAM education is not only a project topic, but a long-term European challenge. The event will offer an opportunity to connect results with future collaboration, digital tools, policy dialogue and sustainable networks.
Registrations will open soon to the wider public. More details will be shared through the official STEAMbrace and STREAM IT communication channels.
